Here’s your chance to revisit the history and witness the spectacle with your own eyes.

Gigantic monolithic statues have always been one of the marvels of Indian sculpture. The renowned Shri Bhagwan Bahubali Monolithic Statue in Dharmasthala is no exception to the wide-spread admiration. Perched on top of the Ratnagiri Hills, this 57 feet statue has been carved out of a single rock and dedicated to Lord Bahubali of the Jain religion. Surrounded by tranquility all around, many tourists visit this place in search of peace and salvation.

According to one Jain legend, once Bahubali stood motionless for a whole year in deep introspection. This statue was erected to depict the mental strength, will power and self-control that was exhibited by Bahubali during his contemplation days.

Trekking enthusiasts too are fond of this place. They ditch the motorable road and take the winding steps leading to the statue that twists through scenic forest stretches.

Situated off the Ujire-Dharmasthala road, Bahubali Statue can be easily accessed from Hotel Sri Ram Residency, which is situated at a distance of just 4.6 KM. The strategic location of the hotel is one of its unique USPs, which makes it more convenient for the guests to cover all the places of tourist interests in and around Dharmasthala with relative ease.
